Welcome Karen Aglipay !!!

Sorry for this late post. Please welcome Ms. Karen Aglipay to our team. At her young age she knows the importance of saving and investing already. Yes she is our youngest member and investor, that's how she prepares for her future. With what she learned and experienced from her past, she realized those things she needed to secure in the future and would want to stop poverty on the next generations. She wanted to share her blessings too by spreading our mission to teach financial literacy to every hardworking Filipinos out there. Truly you are a blessing to the team. Be Financial Literate

"Poverty is not caused by lack of money but mismanage money"             - Robert Kiyosaki

Did you know?

Our inflation rate averages about 4.25% annually. And our traditional bank savings averages 0.25% interest annually. What am I saying? If you think you secured your future by having lots of savings in your bank account, please ...think twice, what your money can buy today may not be the same amount you can buy tomorrow. Beat inflation, save and invest at a higher rate. There are lots of investment vehicle out there. We can show and teach you how.

When we are sick, we go to a doctor. When you need to build a house, you look for a carpenter, seeking whom to consult for building structures you go to engineers. But when it comes to money matters, how to manage it, how to invest and save money properly, who do we go to? These are things that are not taught usually in schools. This is our mission, to teach financial literacy to every Juan and help Filipino families rise from poverty. Learn the secrets of the rich, how they make money work for them and have the right discipline in managing your money.

Be part of us, learn  and enjoy free seminars about managing your money, mutual funds, stock exchange, getting the right insurance and healthcare, and a lot more. Help us spread the mission and change thousands of lives. Indeed there is wealth for every Juan !!!

8 Common Financial Mistakes of Filipinos

Financial mistakes to avoidFinancial security depends on crucial decisions that you make over the years. From the degree you take in college to the job opportunity that presents itself because of your background and education, the choices you make can have a profound impact on your financial security.
Financial mistakes that you make can threaten this security. There are many money blunders that Filipinos normally practice but are unaware of. These little things, when ignored, can build up and haunt you for years to come.

Using your credit card

A credit card is a handy tool that anyone can use for everyday transactions. Using it is also necessary if you want to build your credit score. It can give you the freedom to purchase things, but if you let your spending go out of control, it can send you into a crippling spiral of debt.
So before you use your credit card, make sure you’ve considered all of your needs and wants. Aside from this, you also need to understand the basics of paying for your credit card bill. Always pay on time and more than the minimum to avoid incurring even more fees, and always think of a credit card purchase as a loan to pay later.
Also, learn everything you can about your credit card. How much interest will you be charged per month? What are the penalties for late payments? Are there annual fees? And before even getting a credit card in the Philippines, try to window shop first. See which credit card fits your needs and lifestyle.

Allowing friends/relatives to borrow money

Helping friends and relatives when they’re in need is a strong trait of the Filipino culture. But when the help they need is financial, you should step back and consider the circumstances. Filipinos tend to have difficulty saying no to most requests of relatives and friends. This includes financial requests. Even if they don’t have enough funds, they still tend to help relatives looking for financial assistance. The sad reality is that there are instances when you don’t get paid back.
If this happens to you, it might help to ask what they need the money for. If they are borrowing money for a business venture, for example, advise them that they might be better off consulting with a bank.  If it’s for something else, offer to help them research the best personal loans available. Even if you can’t help them financially, you can still give them helpful advice.

Not having a safety net for your health

How much does a visit to the ER cost in the Philippines? If you will be headed to a competent hospital such as Makati Medical Center, don’t be surprised to have a P9,000-P10,000 bill for just a 2 hour visit. In these types of hospitals, the professional fee is almost at P4,000 in the ER. As for consultation fee, you will be paying at least P500 per visit, and pay more for the diagnostic procedures.
In the Philippines, the out-of-pocket mode of payment is a common scenario. Though you can visit public hospitals, be prepared for long lines, and at times incomparable service compared to the private hospital facilities such as Makati Medical Center, Medical City or St. Luke’s Medical Center.
To avoid these nightmare scenarios, look for a decent HMO that could get you and your family covered using our health insurance comparison tool. You can get covered for as low as P700 a month, but always check the plan to see if it’s best for you.

Not investing

You may have heard the saying ‘a penny saved is a penny earned.’ But is it really the case? With inflation, your money saved today may no longer have the same value the next day, so it’s important to learn the basics of investing. Investing in the stock market, bonds and other sources of passive to active income can come in handy especially when you are about to retire.
You can start by putting aside a little money every month to invest. Consult with financial professionals to ensure that you’re investing your hard-earned money in the right places.

Not pursuing further education

Whether it is a new trade, or a master’s degree, you should always try to grow as an individual through further education. You want to always update your skills in order to present yourself as an asset to your company.
Additional skills gained from education can increase your market value. And at times, achieving certain positions requires specific qualifications. Though further education can cost you some money, if it is relevant to your career goals, you should see it as an investment in yourself.

Not buying a house

Eventually, you will end up retiring and when this day comes, you may not have enough money to pay for the current rent that you are paying. Buying a house saves you this trouble. But buying a house costs a lot of money, especially now that real estate development has boomed over the years.  The appreciation of real estate has barred a lot of individuals from getting a house with decent land area enough to raise a family. So how do you effectively buy a house?
You can check banks for foreclosed properties that are up for grabs. Aside from that, you can also  check the requirements of PAG-IBIG for a housing loan.

Not knowing good and bad debt

Do you know the difference between good and bad debts? A good debt is an investment that increases in value over time, such as a student loan, a mortgage, or an auto loan (if a car is necessary to your work or life).
In contrast, a bad debt is for things that quickly lose their value and don’t generate income over the long term, or debts with punishingly high interest rates, such as credit card debt.
To avoid bad debt, just keep in mind: if you don’t need something, don’t put it on your credit card. And before taking out a loan, consider whether your debt is going to be good or bad.

Not getting the necessary insurance

Car insurance, health insurance and even life insurance are some things that a lot of Filipinos view as added expenses. However, when faced with actual risks that turn to unfortunate events, it is the only time they realize that prevention is better than a cure.

There are a number of insurance companies that can provide the necessary safety net for different aspects of your life. Make sure you’re covered for any eventuality by insuring your car, your home, your health and your life. A few monthly payments now can save you a lot of trouble later.

But of course, you need to know the terms. For instance, during the 2009 Ondoy typhoon, there were cars that weren’t covered by their insurance companies since it was an event of nature that caused the damages. However, it has been recorded that during the same incident, insurance claims hit a record high of P11 billion. So always check your coverage before making claims.

Avoiding all these financial mistakes might seem like a tall order, but if you lay out your goals and start cutting out these blunders one by one, you can be well on your way to financial stability.

Explosive Tuesday !!!

It's a blessed Tuesday Explosion! The strong winds and pouring rain cannot stop us from doing our mission. We are very happy and excited to see more people becoming interested in financial literacy and what we have been doing recently. And the most rewarding feeling is that feeling that you have changed peoples lives towards financial freedom, even if they do not join us, you know deep in your heart that what you have taught them made them realize something and would hopefully be inspired to do something about it. Eventually they will be part of us small percent of people taking charge to make a difference and put a stop in this never ending rat race cycle.

As I have posted before in this blog, "True leaders don't create more followers, they create more leaders",  we are very happy for our new members and business partners, that they did not only teach and share what they learned, they practice and apply it also to their daily lives. And now with everyone's help, this mission will not be more easier, it is definitely becoming more fun!!!

See you soon, Jhoe, April, Claire, Matt and Faye, We look forward and are very excited to have you with us on the team, thanks MD Luz for the guidance, thanks to Mark for your trust and to my lovely wife for everything. Business with a Mission

What makes IMG our business unique and different from other businesses? It provides more than what we want, it gives us an avenue to be an advocate with a purpose. It is a business with a mission, a mission to help all Filipino Families rise from poverty by teaching them the importance of financial literacy and how can they build their wealth properly.

Other's usually mistaken us as salesmen or MLM's. Yes that's what I thought and felt before when I first joined. I would agree we may have similar concepts but as I went through this journey, I realized this is not just money matters or an ordinary business, in fact we don't have to sell or be forced to invite people. We found out that by just sharing  financial literacy  to everyone, you have the power to change people's lives! Imagine you can be somebody with this business, it is even more fun when our mission becomes your passion. The beauty if this business which I personally see, is that not only we enlighten and influence others, the service and products we provide is something they can use for themselves, in short it's a win-win situation for both me and my prospects. Even he or she does not run the business, they can still build their wealth through proper investing. Truly we can increase our cash flow with a lot of ways thru IMG.   Besides look around you, observe the environment you belong to or the people you mingle with everyday of your lives. Like the saying goes, |Birds of the same feathers flock together" ,  if you are with spenders, people who have no clear direction or goals in life, even if you think you are different, sooner or later you will realize you are becoming like them. Same goes with the other way around, if you are with people who are savers, entrepreneurs and investors, your mindset and lifestyle changes. So it is up to you, the choice is yours, which path shall you take? who would you want to become someday? How long do you plan to work hard for the money? Remember Time is our biggest constraint in life and procrastination is the seed of self destruction.

It's been roughly two months since me and my wife started this business. Our praise and thanks are overflowing to our Maker above for giving us this opportunity. And now we are growing everyday amazingly! Thanks to our supportive team and our great coaches, it's really nice to have a business of your own but not by your own. A business that is simple clear and doable. You don't have bosses, you have more time to spend with yourself and family, you control your own destiny, you can build a nationwide and even worldwide business, and we get to travel around the world for free! As you can see I have shared already a lot in this blog, what I've learned and experience with IMG and I hope that we had inspire you to also make your first step towards change. The time is now my dear readers, if you had realize something here, do not stop at that point, make a resolution then make a routine how to attain or achieve that resolution. And I promise you by doing so, you would be where you want to be, or at least very close to it. Well enough said, Enjoy the rest of our team pictures, our sharing activities and a lot more.

F.E.A.R.

I'd like to share a story told by my friend Mr. Andrew Pangilagan  during our bus ride to our office in Makati. He said this story is from Bro. Bo Sanchez during one of his inspirational talks about investing.

Bo asked the audience, "If I were to give you a tool that can solve all your problems in the world but given the fact that this tool may harm or endanger you and your family , will you take it? will you use it? "
The audience responded "Of course not!"

Hmmm, what about you? What can be your most likely answer? Perhaps like me and the rest you would also agree right? What's the good of solving all my problems in the world if it would do something bad for me and my loved ones in return?

Then Bo asked again the audience, "Okay, so what about if I were to give you this car?  ...."

"Will you take it and use it?"

Wow!!! The audience cried "of course!! sure!!" Most probably you have never seen nor rode a car this cool and nice in your entire life? We do not even know if it has the same controls as your ordinary car, but who cares? We like it! Its cool and you would of course be really popular among your friends especially the girls haha. Then he asked again, "Why? Isn't it that cars can also be a threat to your life? It may also harm and endanger you and others who will ride it with you? So  why do you take the risk knowing those facts?" Someone answered "It won't harm me coz I know how to drive? And I drive safely, I follow traffic signs and have discipline on the road"

Exactly !!! So going back to the first question, what if you know how to use those tools too? Perhaps you would also consider using them right? What's the difference between the tools and the car? The key here my friends is Knowledge and Discipline. If you know the "HOWs" and follow them correctly, in spite of the risks at hand, you know you can minimize them by being careful. And that is what we call FEAR. The fear of losing, the fear of failure, the fear of not achieving your plans and goals. But if you know how to win? What will you do? Makes a big difference agree?

The same goes with investment, many of us FEAR investment because we do not know much about it. Most people thought that it is only for the rich, those who have extra money to spend, we think that it is like gambling. Well come to think about it, everything in this world has risks, nothing is free, there's always a consequence for every situation, in every game there are winners and losers. It depends how good the player is. It is natural for us humans not to take interest in something we do not know or have no idea what good it has to give. But like the story above, if we know how to properly invest, what to do and what not to do, to drive safely and follow regulations, then for sure it will also be a good choice to use investment just like the fancy car.

So what are you waiting for my dear readers. We are encouraging you to enter the world of investing, know how to start and build your wealth properly. The time to invest is now! Spend your time wisely, study and familiarize yourself with financial literacy and discover how money can work for you. Finally I would like to end this post by giving FEAR two acronyms:

The Rat Race Cycle

Many of us Filipinos know how to work hard for the money, and we do EARN the money. However the question "WHY?" remains why most of us are not able to save and prepare for our retirement.

Others say, "I will save once I have more income" or thinks "I can only save if I have the extra money".  "Saka na muna pag lumaki na sahod ko"

But didn't you notice? The more bigger the money we get or earn, the more our money is stretched and much worse the more money spent leaving nothing ...

We think that now that we have more money or have bigger amount of salary, the more allowance I have for ourselves. Unknowingly, as your salary increases, your lifestyle changes too so what happens is you just go around in circles, going nowhere.

Experts say that the reason for this is the psychology of humans that the more money you have, the more money to spend. In addition, when we were kids, we got used to immediately spending money that are given to us. If a grown up will give you some money, you'd be running fast to the sarisari store to buy candies, junk food, and toys.  Like for example during Christmas, you'll get a lot of money from your Ninongs and Ninangs or from you parents, wow you are like millionaires, but I bet before the month of January ends you had spent all of that money already. You see that part of our culture greatly affects how we spend on our lifestyles as we grow up.

We buy new appliances, flat screen LED smart TV's, DLSR cameras, and other trending gadgets w/c we pay more for our electric bills. We want to look chill and cool to others, we buy brand new cars and extravagant houses where in return gives us headaches because of its maintenance.

Everything going in circles ...

This ladies and gentlemen is what we call the rat race cycle. Come to think of it, is this your current situation? You run through a never ending course until you run out of breath. Even if you are working abroad or earning six figures with your current job or business, if this is the race track you are running, then I assure you nothing will happen to you. This is also the reason why our beloved OFW are working abroad going back and forth sacrificing the time they have to spend with their families even up to their retirement age. We even have "TNT"s abroad becuase of the fear of not being able to get back to other countries to work and provide for their families. And the sad part, once they finally decided to go back to their loved ones, they would realize the money they work so very hard is just a very small fraction of what they have to spend in the future and was really not worth it.

It's because we dwell to much on the wants, and not the needs ....

It's because we spend too much on liabilities and not on assets ...

Yes you may look like rich with a house like this .....

Or even richer with a car like this .......
(cool right, not to mention the chicks)

But the question is, if you lose your job, will you be able to retain the same kind of lifestyle?

Until when can you sustain your lifestyle? One year? A month?  Maybe even after a week you may be struggling already. Remember income does not equal wealth. In the end it is always about what you kept and not what you earned.

So how do you get out of this rat race cycle? We heard a lot of sad stories from different people. From famous artists, boxers, politicians, or big people who were earning money but all of a sudden became poor. Even lotto winners whose life became more misrebale after they won.

However there are also a few stories called  "Rags to Riches". These people became succesful because they gave importance to financial literacy, they have proper goal setting. During the years they are working hard for the money, they alotted some money from their earnings to their financial freedom funds. The key here is DISCIPLINE dear readers.

While you are in the stage of earning and saving, study where your strengths are. Find jobs where you exel at or jobs you enjoy the most especially if you hate your current one. Jobs you love to do even if you will not be paid. But if you can't afford to lose the job at the moment, enjoy it until you can.

In the meantime, study about the art of investing, may it be in pooled funds (mutual funds, UITF, etc.), and stocks. You can learn even just through the internet, you just have to ask your best friend google. Find a business where your dreams can come true and most specially set goals and objectives in detail and make a plan how to achieve them.

In no time you will be amazed on how much money, knowledge or ideas, and other money making machines that will provide for your PASSIVE INCOME. And finally you can tell your boss that he's fired!

I have started planning for my goals and still in the process of continuous learning. I found a vehicle that I can ride to achieve financial freedom. You want to know more and how?

It's you're choice, change should begin now, or you can replace the rats above this post and run the rat race cycle
